Chain Review

Chains
Laurie Halse Anderson
Setting is taking place in Boston and Rhode Island. It takes place during the 1700’s. The culture of the book is about slavery and war. The main character of the book is Isabel other known as Sal Lackton because she is the main one that can handle things better than her little sister Ruth. Antagonist is Mrs. Lackton because she is the only person that does like Isabel and trying to get Isabel really upset with Mrs. Lackton. To me the hook is that he kind of tells me a little bit about what slavery is and it kind of keeps me wanting to know what’s going to happen next. A really sad part is when Isabel is trying to get her and her sister Ruth is almost free but they ended up getting caught and they didn’t get to and Isabel ends up getting in trouble and gets an I put on his face. The theme of the book is slaver and a lesson of this is that slaver is one thing that could really hurt somebody and that it could end up being very bad some people because they would be put in jail or something and they wouldn’t have done anything. This book is a really good it lets you know more about slavery and hard it is to get free some people

Book Talk

Witch & Wizard
James Patterson and Gabrielle Charbonnet

Setting: The main place that this takes place at a prison in Garfunkel. It mainly happens during the dark ages. Everyone is scared of every child in the prison because they think that the children will rule the world.

Protagonist: The main character is Wisty Allgood. Wisty because she goes through the most stuff throughout the book. She finds out that she should love everybody and that she should protect everyone she learns that she should always care for her family member and to never take them for granted. Wisty realizes that her brother Whit will always be there for her no matter what happens to them.

The Hook: The reason I got into this book is because he kinda tells me a little bit that happens. He made me believe that something bad was going to happen to Wisty, her brother Whit and her parents. He tells me bits and pieces of the book and what might have happened. The most interesting part of the book is when some really weird guys come into their house without any questions and they make their house look so bad. They take Wisty and Whit from their home because they believed that Wisty and Whit were a witch and wizard but they had no prove of it no matter what. So they took them away from their parents and their homes.

Theme: A theme of the book is pretty much about withes and wizards.

My hook: That this book is a really good book and it really shows you how mean people can be to anyone that is different from anyone else. It really show how different people really are in there true form.
